Living at Miller Farm
Interested in living at Miller Farm? Check out what's involved!
May Term and Summer Housing
Interested in working outside and taking ownership of some awesome gardens this summer? We need dedicated Earlham students to live at Miller Farm each summer and take care of the gardens and animals. Rent is cheap and the produce is yours to eat! As well, we offer internships each summer. Free housing is provided, and we try to offer a stipend as well. For more information about the Farm in the summer, email the Farmers or look at the [Summer Handbook (http://www.millerfarm.org/wiki/Summer_Handbook)].
Semester Housing
Housing information for the 2007/2008 year is not yet available, but here's how housing has worked in the past:
Housing Process, 2006-2007
Want to live at Miller Farm next year, 2006-2007? Here's what you need to know:
1. THEME HOUSE APPLICATIONS are due to reslife Monday Jan 30. There is a custom application (more like a questionaire) for Miller Farm available from reslife and online. If you're currently off campus, e-mail your completed questionnaire to students@millerfarm.org (mailto:students@millerfarm.org).
2. At Farm day, Saturday, Feb 4, there will be an INITIAL INTEREST MEETING at MILLER FARM, at 12 pm. Please show up. We'll have the questionaires you submitted to reslife. This meeting shouldn't last very long; its main purpose is to get a sense of who and how many people are interested in living at the farm and go over the details of what living at the farm actually involves.
3. CONSENSUS will be held on Tuesday February 7th at 9:30 pm, at MILLER FARM. The process may be long (hopefully not!) so set aside a good chunk of time. Additional meetings may be necessary.
Note: If you didn't make it to the initial interest meeting, that's okay. If you're interested in living at the farm, fill out a copy of our questionnaire (linked to above) and bring it with you to consensus on Wednesday.
Proxies
If you're a proxy: Unless you've explicitly discussed this with the student you're proxying for already, it would be best if s/he could fill out the questionnaire her/himself, as Miller Farm makes some unusual requirements of its residents that need to be absolutely clear prior to consensus.
